  • Status: Project under development
  • Built area: 52,000.00m²

The René Rachou Research Center (CPqRR), part of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) is a reference public institution dedicated to the development of health research and teaching.

As the existing center needs to expand, the project creates a new headquarter for CPqRR located inside the Belo Horizonte Technology Park (BHTec).

An key premise adopted on this project was the possibility of future adaptation, since such an important federal building needs to last for decades and will demand layout adaptations of its administrative areas, research facilities and laboratories throughout the years. In order to do so, technical floors distributed between laboratory areas were created to allow adjustments and renovations without having to interrupt daily activities.

This research center will have approximately 52,000m² of built area, with 12,000m² of laboratories, a 330-seat auditorium, a restaurant open for the public, a Warehouse with approximately 2,000m², landscaping, urbanized areas and parking lots.

This project is being developed meeting the criteria of the AQUA-HQE Environmental Certification.
